This year, I am pleased to announce my second official expedition trip, where you will not only learn about this exciting sport, but you will also have the opportunity to meet the sand rider community and the talented children and young people from my social project SANDKIDS.
Arrive in Peru accompanied by a local rider/specialist, who will guide you and help you get to know this exciting adventure up close.
You will visit the sandboarding community in Peru and meet the local people in each town, learning about their traditions and passion for the sport.
You will have the opportunity to learn about the social projects we support, promoting positive change in the lives of young people through sandboarding and sandskiing.
Our main destination will be Huacachina, where the modern development of sandboarding and sandskiing began. We will explore the highest and most extreme dunes in the world, with descents of up to 2 km in the towns of Nasca and Acari.
My name is Martin Guerra (42 years old) with 25 years of experience in tourism and of which to date I have dedicated 17 years to the development of sandboarding (2007) and sandskiing (2013). Founder of the first professional sandboarding school in Latin America with professional instructors and a new methodology which I called SANDSNOW.

In 2009 I founded the company Sandboarding Peru with the aim of promoting professional and recreational sandboarding in a private manner.
In 2013, together with Laurent Bernhard, we began the implementation of the development of sandskiing in Peru in parallel with the development of sandboarding.
In January 2014, together with Laurent Bernhard and colleagues from the Swiss Alps, I founded the non-profit organization INTERSANDS – International Sandboarding and SandSki Association.
My work for the development of snowboarding and skiing on sand dunes includes the realization of different events from national and international competitions to the realization of Two World Cups and the proposal of a European championship in Germany.
I had the opportunity to take the Swiss Ski and Snowboarding Federation’s technical delegate course – Swiss-ski, where I spent 4 years (2018-2022) supporting the organization of world snowboarding and skiing events in Switzerland.
Since 2023 I have been JO Leiter for my town’s ski club where I lead a group of children in the mountains to learn snowboarding.
I am a specialist consultant in this area of sport for the realization of special projects for brands such as Redbull, Moncler, among others. Likewise, I have been making different documentaries at a national and international level to show the development of sandboarding at a professional level.
I have a network of contacts which I am open to providing as part of my advice on emerging market projects on sports or commercial issues, as well as for social development issues with children and young people.

Peru’s capital, Lima stands as a vibrant crossroads between the majestic Pacific Ocean and the impressive dunes of its coastline. Its rich colonial infrastructure merges with the modernity of one of the most important cities in Latin America, offering a unique cultural experience.
Located just two and a half hours from Lima, Paracas is a destination that invites you to explore its historic seaport, the first in South America. Paracas Bay is witness to fascinating tales of the past, and here you can enjoy a cozy camp in the dunes, as well as visit one of the locations where the last Sandboarding World Cup was held.
This is my home and yours, a place where my life took a significant turn (Martin). In Huacachina, I would like to show you the evolution of sandboarding and sandskiing, as well as introduce you to the community of local riders, who are fundamental to the future of these exciting sports.
Is the location of the world’s highest dune, reaching 1,300 meters above sea level and with a gradient of 790 meters. We will go trekking and camping under a starry sky, and the next morning we will descend this majestic dune, enjoying an exciting descent of 1,200 meters.
During my last visit to Peru in May 2024, I was amazed by the potential of this small valley that houses the largest dune in the world, Toro Mata with a descent of 1800 meters. Thanks to the drive of the private sector, this place is being transformed into an incomparable stage worldwide, both for tourism and for the development of sporting events.
